Frequently Asked Questions:
Are strollers allowed?
Yes! But please beware, one length of the course will take place on a crushed gravel/dirt trail. Also, no need to register a child in a stroller. Participants with strollers must start behind the individual runners/walkers.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, well behaved, leashed dogs are allowed and will start in the same wave as runners with strollers.
Where can I get my packet?
Packet pick-up will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2019 and Wednesday November 27, 2019 from 4pm - 8pm at Stanley Marketplace. If a runner/walker forgets to bring or loses their race day bib, extra bibs will be available on race day based on availability, but there will be a $5 charge to replace these. The runner/walker will also need to fill out a new registration form so we can track them under their new bib number for accurate timing and results.
What if I could not make it to packet pick-up?
We will have your packet on race day but please arrive early to receive them! The 10K will start promptly at 9:45 a.m. and the 5K will start promptly at 10:15 a.m. Please take in consideration any wait time.
Can we register on race day?
Space permitting, you can certainly register on race day, but you will want to arrive early as lines form quickly.
What will we receive with our registration cost?
Supplies permitting, those who register BEFORE race day will receive a swag bag filled with goodies, a t-shirt (guaranteed if registered before Nov 8), and a Race BIB with disposable timing chip.
Do we get a Finisher's Medal?
Because this is a charitable event, supplies are limited. At this time, all kids will receive a Finisher's Medal. The remaining medals will be passed out on a first come, first serve basis.
May a child under 10 years old participate in the 5K or are they only allowed to do the 1K?
Yes! Anyone, regardless of age, is welcome to participate in the 5K! We are offering the 1K for children who want to compete but aren’t yet ready for a 3 mile course. Also, if you have a child older than 10 that is physically incapable of completing the 5K but would like to participate in the trot, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure they have a spot in the 1K. We want all to feel welcome!
Do I need to register my child for the free race?
Please do register them! Signing up your children will give us a better estimate of swag/prizes to pass out at the finish! Parents must also sign a participant waiver for each child running the free race.
What if we are not able to attend the race? Do we get a refund on our registration?
Because we are supporting a 501(c)(3), your registration is considered a direct donation and is non refundable. Harvesting Hope 5K is not profiting from any of your registration dollars as they are being given 100% to the charity to further their research efforts. Thank you!!!! YOU are helping children and adults alike in Colorado (and in the rest of the nation) take a big step toward living life full!
Will the event be rescheduled if there is rain/snow?
We in Colorado have had the luxury of enjoying beautiful Thanksgiving Day weather for many years! However, we are also accustomed to Mother Nature’s blessings. Therefore, the race will go on regardless of weather, although an alternate course may be used if paths are snow packed or flooded. We’ll keep you apprised of expected weather conditions on our Facebook page and website so you can plan accordingly.
Are there any other restrictions?
For the safety of all participants, please no bikes, scooters, roller blades, skates, skateboards, etc. Also, headphones are discouraged, but if you must bring them along, please keep the sound low enough to be courteous to other runners who may be passing by you.
